Single or double jointed? Fat or thin? Metal or plastic?

It comes as a surprise to many horse owners how different horses' mouths are and how little can be discerned from just looking at the outside of the horse's head. In this feature, German veterinarian and equine dental specialist Katharina Ros shows how she goes about checking different bits in the mouth of a horse while he is sedated for floating anyway.

This feature was produced in 2009 - before we went HD at Epona.tv, but it still offers a lot of insight into how bits affect the inside of a horse's mouth.
